Usui Reiki Classes and Reiki Workshops — Western style Reiki Training

Reiki students at California Reiki

Learning Reiki is often a life–changing experience. Yet Reiki is simple and everyone can learn it. With a little practice you will soon begin to feel the many benefits that Reiki can bring to you, and be able to share those benefits with others. With continued practice, you will find that your skills grow as you grow, and it is a gift that you will carry with you for a lifetime.

Collected on this page are details of the Western style Usui Reiki Classes that we offer. These are classes that teach you Reiki in the style that has become popular in the West, since Hawayo Takata brought the practice over from Japan in the 1930's. Over the years, these teachings have often become infused with non–traditional elements, such as the chakra system and Tibetan practices. While some people prefer the more traditional approach, others find this style of Reiki more vibrant, colorful, and intriguing.

Usui Reiki Classes and Workshops for Voluntary Donations!

We do not charge for teaching many Western style Usui Reiki Classes and Workshops. We do show you what others typically charge for this service, but you remain free to choose the amount donated. Remember: Our aim is to make Reiki accessible to everyone and according to each person's circumstances. We gladly put our trust in you to donate an amount that is right for you, and which you feel adequately reflects the value of the teachings.

Remember too that a portion of all donations received is shared with charity.

If you are more interested in learning traditional Japanese Reiki in the manner that the founder of the system of Reiki, Mikao Usui, practiced during his lifetime, please take a look at our Usui Reiki Ryoho Classes instead.

“take your time and you will be infinitely more rewarded”

Reiki is not a race to get the next certificate

As with all things in life, you will only get out of Reiki what you put in. It is a simple thing to “get” all the levels in Reiki within a short period of time, but it will not make you a good practitioner. Learning takes time, experience requires practice, becoming good at what you do only happens if you love it and respect it. With Reiki, taking the next level merely opens the door to more possibilities — the learning never ends. Take your time and you will be infinitely more rewarded.

More information about the Western style Reiki I, Reiki II, and Reiki III Master/Teacher classes that we teach can be found by following these links:

  • Usui Reiki I ClassThe Usui Reiki First Degree Class (or Reiki Level I Class) is for everyone. Take your first steps in this eye–opening class that will show you how to give yourself and others a Reiki treatment. • Usui Reiki II ClassThe Usui Reiki Second Degree Class (or Reiki Level II Class) will expand your mind, and with it, your Reiki abilities. Those certified at Reiki II may give Reiki treatments to others professionally. Expand your understanding of Reiki. Delve deeper into the Western influences of the chakra system and the energetic effects on the aura. Uncover the mysteries of Distance Healing: what does Distance Reiki actually mean, and how is it achieved?
  • Usui Reiki III Class or Reiki Master ClassThe Usui Reiki Third Degree Master Class (or Reiki Level III Class) will teach you the final elements of the system of Reiki as practiced in the West, and prepare you to fulfill the role of a future Reiki Master or Teacher.

Complimentary Japanese Tea!

While we cannot promise you a full traditional Japanese Tea Ceremony (which is steeped in complex ritual and tradition, not to mention the need to wear kimonos) we can promise you a selection of fine Japanese teas*, and a very warm welcome to all of our Western Reiki Workshops and traditional Japanese Usui Reiki Ryoho Practice Meetings. Come and join us!

*Some Guest Teachers may not offer this service. Please check with us.

Reiki Workshops — Come and practice Reiki with others!

Practice, practice, practice! To “know” Reiki, you need to use it regularly. To help you, we organize regular Reiki Workshops for all Reiki students to come and practice Reiki with their teacher and others. Often, we combine these Workshops with special activities that make the learning more fun, while at the same time helping to expand your understanding. Come and meet new faces, learn from shared Reiki experiences, practice complete healings on yourself and others, ask questions, and enjoy yourself while learning!

  • Reiki WorkshopsReiki Workshops are a regular meeting place for all students studying the Western style of Reiki. They are much more than just practice classes; they are a place to meet up and share your experiences, discuss the finer points of Reiki over some Japanese tea, socialize with like–minded people, and of course they are a place to pick up new techniques, practice with others, and learn from each other. Often these workshops are themed to intriguing topics, expanding your understanding in new and exciting ways, and there is always a tangible buzz of excitement when everyone gets together; whether it is to laugh a while, to overcome a difficult issue, or to deepen our personal and spiritual development together, there is always a tremendous sense of community and caring support. Class Learning Materials for Western Reiki Classes — Optional to buy or included in your class!

William Lee Rand's excellent Reiki manuals are the class texts we exclusively use for teaching our Western style Usui Reiki Classes. (William Lee Rand is the founder of the International Center for Reiki Training.)

For Reiki I and Reiki II Classes you can choose to buy the manual and other class learning materials on the day of the class if you wish — there is no obligation. For the Reiki III/Master Classes the manual and Certificate of Completion are included.

The Manuals are excellent for learning Western style Usui Reiki, and highly recommended. You will get a chance to see and use them in class, and believe us, there will be plenty for you to study in these manuals after the class is over!

Note 1: We offer the ring bound version of “Reiki: The Healing Touch” (ISBN 1–886785–03–1). Slightly cheaper paperback versions are available for purchase elsewhere, but we recommend the ring bound versions (which we offer to you at a reduced rate) because they are a larger format and make for a much better study aid for class learning.

Note 2: All quoted prices are correct at time of publication. Please Contact Us if you find that prices have changed.
