Although classically trained in traditional Japanese Calligraphy from the age of six, Master Takase often draws on her lifetime of experience to combine traditional calligraphy with contemporary design. One of her favorite expressions is onkochishin which means “Respect the past, create the new.”

As with other Japanese Arts including Reiki, hara and ki are essential to creating each work.
