The inspiration for Wind in Blue came after a long trip away in Washington and memories of Kaneohe Bay in O'ahu, Hawaii. “Wind has movement, but it also has a fragrance, it has temperature and taste. So on that cold, overcast day in Washington I was recalling and imagining the wind blowing across Kaneohe Bay. Blowing so bluely,” recalls Master Takase.

Master Takase sometimes enjoys using non–traditional techniques to create art, as demonstrated in this work with the use of watercolor. As with other Japanese Arts including Reiki, hara and ki are essential to creating each work.
