Students practiced the hand positions they learned from taking the Reiki I Class. The hand positions are a useful way to allow new students to become familiar with the system of Reiki. The hand positions are easy to learn, and guide students step by step until they have covered the whole body. With further practice, it gradually becomes easier to intuitively sense where to place the hands. As with all things that must be learned, practice is the key to gaining confidence and experience when giving a Reiki treatment, as well as to becoming a more effective channel for the Reiki energy to flow.
The private Reiki room is usually used to give individual personal Reiki Sessions. California Reiki students practiced giving complete treatments during the California Reiki Anniversary Workshop, which was one of the special events organized to mark the anniversary of California Reiki.
The recipient of a Reiki treatment can often feel a number of different sensations as the Reiki energy goes to work; sensations of heat, cold, tingling, or visualizing colors or other images is common, as is attaining a very deep state of relaxation.
