Reiki therapy is one of the integrative services offered by New York–Presbyterian Hospital for patients undergoing cardiothoracic surgery. A spokesperson for the Columbia Integrative Medicine Program (CIMP) said “I find the practice of Reiki very rewarding, as a practitioner. Patients have reported deep relaxation and a sense of profound healing”. [See main article.]

The U.S. News and World Report rankings placed the New York–Presbyterian Hospital as the sixth–best hospital in the United States in 2007.
