Tashichoedzong in Bhutan is the Seat of the Bhutanese Government

The “Dzong” are massive impregnable fortresses that were built centuries ago to defend against skirmishes from Tibet. Many still stand and are a characteristic feature of Bhutan.
Tashichoedzong was built in the 17th century and has been the seat of the Bhutanese government since 1952. It is also a Buddhist monastery.
